Jenny and Mark are getting married in the Twin Cities next summer. They met up in Duluth while working on their masters degrees. They wanted to have their engagement photos taken where they met and got engaged, so we did, and the campus was incredible!
You can see in the background that the fog was just thick. The white background is all fog. We couldn't see much past where we were walking. It was really beautiful.
This is the place where Mark proposed. Doesn't it look they're in Europe somewhere? I certainly didn't feel like I was in Minnesota as we walked around the campus. Mark had been a campus tour guide for a while and he knew lots of interesting facts. It was really fun!
Our original goal was to do the photos in October to get some of the fall colors. However, with all the rain and wind, almost all the leaves had already fallen to the ground. We found a few trees that were still hanging on to their brilliant leaves.
Congratulations Jenny and Mark, and thanks for having me do your photos!
Brian and Shayna got married up in Duluth. Shayna has watched my nieces for years. She chose Rachel, the oldest, to be her flower girl, which of course was really fun for me. Even though there was thick fog and mist all day, nobody seemed to mind. Everyone was laughing and in high spirits. Very fun!
There is something about father/daughter moments, especially at a wedding. I love these ones of Shayna with her dad.
These portraits are of one of my dearest friend's new baby. This is Gabriel at 2 weeks. He is the cuddliest little baby. I love how he just snuggles right in as deep as he can. He also has some of the funniest expressions. You can really see Kyle, his dad, in a lot of his expressions. It amazes me how early you can see resemblances. Congratulations Kyle and Lindsay!
My dad once told me that with your closest friends in life, you won't really remember getting to know them. It's something that just happens over time and what makes for such a true friend. In someways that is what happened with my becoming a photographer. It is a passion that started and developed in many ways along the years through a love of art and people, particularly children culminating into a natural light portrait photographer. I couldn't love my work more.
